Athlete Natalie Thirsk

Natalie moved to Lansdowne when she was 4 years old and attended Lansdowne School.

Although born with cerebral palsy, she spent her childhood playing able-bodied ringette, soccer and judo until she discovered Para-athletics in autumn 2019.

During her first track meet, Natalie set two new Canadian indoor records for her classification (T38) then COVID forced her to train by herself without facilities and eyes-on coaching.

Since restrictions have lifted, Natalie has set multiple Canadian records, including one this summer for 100m (T38) at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. Her next goals are to qualify for the 2023 Para Athletics World Championships and the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

Natalie is an amazing athlete that doesn’t let her disability hold her back! Go Natalie Go!
